Well…now we know.
After teasing several weeks ago that he couldn’t decide on whether he wanted to play Shazam! or his arch-nemesis Black Adam, wrestler turned actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to Twitter today to announce that he has accepted the role of Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam! motion picture. No further information is available regarding the film at this time.
Black Adam, aka Teth-Adam, from the fictional Middle Eastern country of Kahndaq, is the primary adversary of the superhero Shazam! Black Adam has powers similar to Shazam! including the ability to fly and brute strength, as well as the ability to manipulate lightning. Although Black Adam is primarily a villain, he has also been an anti-hero throughout the history of the comic so it will be interesting to see how they use the character on the big screen.
