Today I noticed that there were several 1980s movies in my queue. Since there’s no way to sort movies by release date (silly), I just took some time to comb through to find them. I always seem to have issues linking the titles, so you’ll just have to do a search when you get in there. Please comment with the ones you’ll watch and let me know if there are any I missed.
- Seems Like Old Times (1980) – Chevy Chase & Goldie Hawn. I’ve never seen this, but I can imagine it’s corny as all get out.
- Stir Crazy (1980) – The classic duo of Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. Silliness at it’s finest.
- The Karate Kid (1984) – Wax on. Wax off.
- Top Secret (1984) – So wrong but oh, so right.
- The Breakfast Club (1985) – A John Hughes classic that almost beats Sixteen Candles, which unfortunately is not on the list.
- Explorers (1985) – River Phoenix & Ethan Hawke in their big screen debuts. Has it really been that long?
- St Elmo’s Fire (1985) – Adulthood isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
- Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) – You wish you were this cool.
- Pretty In Pink (1986) – When you really analyze it, the plot is awful. However, James Spader is AMAZING.
- Adventures in Babysitting (1987) – Vincent D’Onofrio.
- Can’t Buy Me Love (1987) – Before he was McDreamy.
- Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) – Traveling with a stranger was never so funny.
- Spaceballs (1987) – One of my all-time favorite quotable movies.
- Three Men & A Baby (1987) – Men and babies?? Crazy!
- Coming To America (1988) – Eddie Murphy in his prime.
- Naked Gun (1988) – The references may be outdated, but nothing outdates funny.
- The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1989) – Can you believe I’ve never seen this?
- The Adventures of Milo & Otis (1989) – Dogs and Cats, living together! Mass Hysteria!
- Ghostbusters 2 (1989) – Way cheesier than the first, but it’s still enjoyable.
- Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) – The giant oatmeal creme pie is still my favorite.
- Major League (1989) – Boys being boys playing baseball.
- Hear No Evil, See No Evil (1989) – The comedy duo puts out another that’s still funny, but it’s no Stir Crazy.
- Say Anything… (1989) – Regarded as one of the most romantic movies of the 80s. You be the judge.
