Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.

The show stars Lennie JamesSteven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, and Alanna Masterson

“The Walking Dead” season 6 will premiere on October 11th at 9 pm with a 90-minute premiere, with “The Talking Dead” to follow at 10:30. AMC will also host the premiere at Madison Square Garden. You can find more details here

Dominic Cooper in Talks to Star in AMC’s ‘Preacher’

Dominic Cooper

The Wrap is reporting that Dominic Cooper is closing in on a deal to star in AMC’s adaptation of the comic PreacherCooper would play the lead role Jesse Custer, a small town Texas priest who begins to question his faith and  finds himself merged with a supernatural entity, Genesis, birthed from both an angel and a demon.

The news comes just moments after The Hollywood Reporter’s report that Lucy Griffiths (True Blood) has joined the cast as Emily Woodrow, a new character created just for the show. The character is described as a no-nonsense single mother of three. Emily’s a waitress, the church organist, a bookkeeper and Jesse’s loyal right hand. Stoic and strong, wise beyond her years, she can’t help but have a little thing for Preacher Jesse

These two join a cast which includes Joseph Gilgun as the vampire Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip, and Ian Colletti as Arseface.

The show will be produced by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen along with Neal Moritz’s Original Film. The pilot was written by Sam Catlin and has Rogen and Goldberg attached to direct.

Preacher is set to shoot this year and  premiere on the network in 2016.

‘The Walking Dead’ Companion Series Promo Set to Debut This Weekend

The-Walking-Dead-Companion-Series-Promo_001

AMC has announced that the first TV spot for the upcoming The Walking Dead companion series will air during this Sunday’s 90-minute season finale of The Walking Dead entitled: “Conquer”.

The show’s first season is set to air sometime this Summer and will consist of six episodes. A second season has already been ordered by the network and is expected to air in 2016.

The show will star Kim Dickins, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey. Adam Davidson (Friday Night Lights) directed the pilot episode.

Ruth Negga Cast as Tulip in AMC’s ‘Preacher’

RuthNeggamain

Deadline is reporting that current Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast member, Ruth Negga, has been cast in role of Tulip O’Hare, the female lead in Preacher, AMC’s drama pilot based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s cult 1990s comic.

Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher in the small Texas town of Annville. Custer was accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named Genesis in an incident which killed his entire congregation and flattened his church.Genesis, the product of the unauthorized, unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon, is an infant with no sense of individual will. However, as it is composed of both pure goodness and pure evil, it might have enough power to rival that of God Himself. In other words, Jesse Custer, bonded to Genesis, may have become the most powerful being in the whole of living existence. Jesse hits the road, reunited with his ex girlfriend, Tulip, and joined by a rowdy Irish vampire, Cassidy, to track down God himself and force him to explain why he abandoned his duties in Heaven.

Preacher will be produced by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen. The pilot was written by Sam Catlin and Rogen and Goldberg are set to direct it. Jesse Custer has yet to be cast. The show will premiere in 2016 on the network

TV: ‘The Walking Dead’ Midseason Wrap Up

maxresdefault

The fifth season of AMC’s smash hit series The Walking Dead has been one filled with ups and downs leaving many fans complaining about the pacing and overall direction of the current season. A season which started off with a bang in episode one as the group fought their way out of Terminus and away from their captures but has abruptly slowed to a crawl in the episodes that followed. Similar to many episodes in season 4, the producers of the show chose to split up the group and elected for more character driven episodes with very few instances of action, a move jeered by fans of the gritty violent nature of the show. As the group begins a new chapter, they will face a rough road ahead and the loss of a member which will no doubt effect each person in the group.  Read More →
