The 80’s have been in hot demand as of late. It appears that Hollywood will continue it’s remake machine as The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that 20th Century Fox is looking to bring Alien Nation back to the big screen with Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man) attached to provide the screenplay.

The original film, directed by Graham Baker, took place in futuristic Los Angeles, where a an alien civilization know as the Newcomers took refuge on Earth. The group slowly begins to be integrated into human society after years of quarantine, but they become victims of a new type of discrimination. A pair of police officers, human Matthew Sykes (James Caan) and Newcomer George Francisco (Mandy Patinkin) are placed together despite the prejudice of the Sykes, to take on a case which take them into the newcomers underworld which helps the two learn a deep respect for each other.

The film was so successful for the studio that a television spinoff was ordered. Sadly, the show would only last one season but did lead to several TV movies.
