Game of Thrones News: Will Bran and Hodor Return for Season 5?!

Bran-Stark-and-Hodor-Wont-Return-In-Game-Of-Thrones-Season-5It appears that our favorite band of misfits might be sitting on the back burned for 2015. Kristian Nairn (Hodor) has revealed to Yahoo! that his character won’t be a part of season 5. The interview goes on to state that in addition to Nairn’s absence,  Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark) will also be skipping the upcoming season.

“We have a season off and we have a year’s hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books,”  the actor told Yahoo! News.

While this might come as a surprise to some viewers of the popular HBO fantasy series, readers of George R.R. Martin’s novels will know that by the end of Game Of Thrones Season 4, Bran Stark’s storyline had caught up to the point he and his traveling band were at in the fifth book in the series, “A Dance With Dragons”.
Where I understand that it is hard to advance a characters story past the author’s vision, it is quite unusual for a TV show not to visit a main character’s story arc for an entire season, especially when they leave that characters story the way they did Bran’s. It is widely rumored that Martin has told showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff of certain events that will happen in the final two books in the event that the show surpasses the authors writing, so it seems Bran and companies fates are safe for the time being.
Sound off! Is it a good idea to omit Bran’s storyline for Season 5?!
