April fools is over, but Deadline is reporting that 20th Century Fox wants to continue the jokes by announcing a live-action Play-Doh movie. The studio is partnering with Hasboro, the markers of the modeling compound to create a story around the popular children’s “toy” and none other than Paul Feig has entered talks to both write and direct the film.
Play-Doh is the newest toy box to screen adaptation following last years megahit The Lego Movie which grossed $468 million globally and proved to everyone that everything is awesome. The involvement of Feig makes this project very interesting and we will bring you all the latest news as it transpires.
Hasbro has previously brought to the big screen films based on toy lines like Transformers and G.I. Joe as well as board games like Battleship and Ouija. The company is also looking to bring versions of Candy Land, Monopoly, Magic: The Gathering and Tonka Trucks to the big screen in the years to come. Jem and the Holograms is being released on October 23rd of this year.
