‘Mistaken For Strangers – The Play’: A Funny or Die Masterpiece

For those of you who followed us when we were swinging our beat over at Cinemit.com, you might have read my review of Tom Berninger‘s fascinating documentary Mistaken for Strangers about his brother Matt‘s band, The National, and their time together on tour. Well, Funny or Die, in the way that few can do, created this wonderful send-up of the film being turned into a stage play:

I absolutely adore this. Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson are fantastic choices for the roles of the two brothers. Galifianakis is an obvious pick as Tom Berninger since they look so much alike, but Danson is the real surprise as Matt. I would have never imagined him in this role. The clip gets progressively better as the story unfolds, culminating in perhaps the best final line of any comedy skit I’ve seen. Pure perfection. Bravo, Funny or Die. Bravo.

And just like finding the perfect linen shirt, this episode highlights upcoming changes here and at Create Your (Life) Story, which is in the early stages of rebranding with fresh content on how to share your stories with those who need to hear them.
