The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop today that Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street) is partnering with Steve Niles, the comic author who co-created 30 Days of Night, to adapt Niles‘ upcoming comic The Disciples. The comic is drawn by Christopher Mitten (Wasteland). Craven will act as executive producer on the project, which will be overseen by Universal Cable Productions. The book itself is scheduled to debut in May.
The story centers around three private detectives/bounty hunters Dagmar, Rick, and Jules, who have been hired by a high ranking Senator to retrieve his teenage daughter who’s run off to join a mysterious religious cult known as The Disciples. The group is made up of the ultra-wealthy who have begun colonizing moons throughout the solar system. The story also follows billionaire industrialist McCauley Richmond, one of the colonist who has built a new society on Ganymede, a moon of Jupiter, where his flock of cultists can have the religious freedom to worship him. But when the team reaches Ganymede in their Starship Venture, they discover something has gone horribly wrong!
