David Ayer (Fury) must’ve sold his soul to bring DC Comics’ super villain team to the big screen with such an all star cast. Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Warner Bros. Pictures announced just minutes ago that the cast has been assembled and here it is:
Will Smith as Deadshot
Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) as Rick Flagg
Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) as Harley Quinn
Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) as The Joker
Jai Courtney (Divergent) as Boomerang
Cara Delevingne (Anna Karenina) as Enchantress
There is also a strong rumor that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will play a role in the story.
“The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one,” said Greg Silverman, “David Ayer returns to the studio where he wrote Training Day and brings his incredible ability to craft multidimensional villains to this iconic DC property with a cast of longtime Warner collaborators Will Smith and Tom Hardy, and other new and returning favorites: Margot, Jared, Jai and Cara. We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.”
The film will shoot from April 2015 until September 2015 for a August 5, 2016 release.
Sound off! What do you think of this cast?! Are you more or less excited?!
Will Smith, go away. I hate that he’s in this. Otherwise great casting choices.
