Although nothing in the way of news has come out regarding the newest installment in the popular franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is still sailing our way in a few short years. Expected to return is the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp, but today comes news of another possible returning character. While appearing at Oz Comic Con this past weekend (via Daily Mail), actor Orlando Bloom hinted that he may be returning to the franchise that helped launch his career.

“There have certainly been some discussions about it and I’m open to it,” the actor said. “That whole experience working with Johnny (Depp) and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me.”

Bloom’s character was last seen in 2007’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End when his character was cursed to spend eternity sailing the seven seas as the captain of the Flying Dutchman. Although a post-credit scene did hint at a return by Turner to his beloved Elizabeth (Keira Knightley) and their child, the 4th installment in the franchise Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides did not see a return of the popular couple.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and is set for release on July 7, 2017
