After months of speculation, HBO has finally confirmed today that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn will star in the second season of HBO’s “True Detective.” The cable giant also announced that Justin Lin (Fast and the Furious) is set to direct the first two episodes.
The second season will focus on a trio police officers including Ray Velcoro (Farrell), a corrupt officer with ties to the mob, and a career criminal named Frank Semyon (Vaughn), who’s move into legitimate business is thwarted by the death of his business partner.
Each man must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of the murder.
Casting of the other two officers and the supporting cast has yet to be announced, but we will let you know as it is confirmed. Production begins later this fall in California.
