Netflix News: ‘House of Cards’ returns May 30th with Season 5! See the trailer!

The fifth season of the critically acclaimed Emmy®­nominated drama House of Cards premieres Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The series’s Golden Globe® winning stars Kevin Spacey (as Francis Underwood) and Robin Wright (as Claire Underwood), whose characters have always been each other’s strongest allies, show cracks in their relationship . House of Cards also stars Michael Kelly , Jayne Atkinson , Neve Campbell , Derek Cecil, Paul Sparks and Joel Kinnaman .

Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese are showrunners for season five, and they serve as executive producers along with David Fincher, John Mankiewicz, Daniel Minahan, Kevin Spacey , Joshua Donen, Dana Brunetti , Eric Roth, Robin Wright , Michael Dobbs and Andrew Davies. Created for television by Beau Willimon. House of Cards is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth and Trigger Street Productions, Inc. in association with Media Rights Capital for Netflix.

Netflix News: Robert Redford, Jason Segal & Rooney Mara in afterlife love story ‘The Discovery’ on March 31st

The Discovery stars Robert Redford, Rooney Mara, Jason Segel, Riley Keough and Jesse Plemons and is a love story set in a world where the afterlife has been scientifically proven, and as a result millions of people start taking their own lives to “get there.” Directed by Charlie McDowell and written by McDowell and Justin Lader (The One I Love), the film was produced by Alex Orlovsky of A-LO Films and James D. Stern of Endgame Entertainment, and was co-financed by Endgame Entertainment and Protagonist Pictures. Executive Producers are Julie Goldstein, Lucas Smith, Mike Goodridge, Dimitra Tsingou, Hunter Gray, McDowell and co-producer Erika Hampson.

Netflix News: Sundance selection ‘Abstract: The Art of Design’ Original Series debuting February 10th

Abstract: The Art of Design, a Netflix original docu-series, takes you beyond blueprints and computers into the art and science of design, showcasing great designers from every discipline whose work shapes our world. Go inside the minds of the world’s greatest designers.

Episodes focus on a diverse slate of designers including Bjarke Ingels (Architect), Christoph Niemann (Illustrator), Es Devlin (Stage Designer), Ilse Crawford (Interior Designer), Paula Scher (Graphic Designer), Platon (Photographer), Ralph Gilles (Automobile Designer) and Tinker Hatfield (Nike Shoe Designer).

Executive produced by Morgan Neville, Scott Dadich (Editor in Chief of WIRED), and for RadicalMedia Dave O’Connor, Jon Kamen, and Justin Wilkes.

Abstract: The Art of Design premieres globally on Netflix on February 10 and will make its world premiere at Sundance on Jan. 21.

Netflix News: Drew Barrymore & Timothy Olyphant star in comedy series ‘Santa Clarita Diet’ on February 3rd

In Santa Clarita Diet, Joel (Timothy Olyphant, Justified) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore, Blended) are husband and wife realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenaged daughter Abby (Liv Hewson), until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction…but in a good way.

Santa Clarita Diet stars Drew Barrymore as Sheila Hammond, Timothy Olyphant as Joel Hammond, Liv Hewson as Abby Hammond and Skylar Gisondo as Eric Bemis.

Showrunner Victor Fresco, Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky, Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell are executive producers on the series. Nancy Juvonen is a producer. Santa Clarita Diet is a Netflix production and is available globally only on Netflix on February 3, 2017.

In the Netflix original film, Girlfriend’s Day, director Michael Paul Stephenson (The American Scream) invites you to experience a clever and quirky story about love, loss and the worst place to get a paper cut. Meet Ray Wentworth (Bob Odenkirk), once a king of the wordsmith world, and now a down-on-his-luck romance card writer. In an effort to recapture the feelings that once made him the greatest, he gets entangled in a web of murder and deceit as writers vie to create the perfect card for a newly crowned holiday: Girlfriend’s Day.
