D23 Coverage: ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ Posters Released

The company unveiled a first glimpse at the upcoming Alice in Wonderland sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass via two posters showing our first look at Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska in costume! Have a look below.

Alice Through the Looking Glass continues the adventures of author Lewis Carroll’’s beloved characters with an all new tale that travels back to Underland…and back in time. When Alice wakes up in Wonderland she must travel through a mysterious new world to retrieve a magical scepter that can stop the evil Lord of Time before he turns forward the clock and turns Wonderland into a barren, lifeless old world. With the help of some new friends, Alice must also uncover an evil plot to put the Queen of Hearts back on the throne.

Directed by James Bobin from a script by Linda Woolverton, the film also stars Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rhys Ifans, Matt Lucas, Sacha Baron Cohen, Stephen Fry, Toby Jones, Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Paul Whitehouse and Barbara Windsor.

‘Maleficent’ Sequel in the Works at Disney

Deadline is reporting that Walt Disney Pictures is developing a Maleficent sequel. The studio has hired Linda Woolverton, who scripted the first film, to work on the followup. No word on if the star of the first film, Angelina Jolie, will return but the studio is hot to sign her.

The original film brought in more than $758 million worldwide.
