Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass Returning for Bourne 5! Now Where Did I Hear That Before?…Hmmmm

A few months back, I reported that Matt Damon was interested in returning to the Bourne franchise if he and director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Ultimatum) were offered the chance to return and it seems Universal has done just that. Deadline is now reporting that the studio in in negotiations with Damon and Greengrass to re-team for the 5th entry into the franchise.

According to the article, the film will be released on July 16, 2016, which was previously reported to be the date Universal circled for the release for The Bourne Legacy sequel, but it seems for now Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross will be taking some time off.
