The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced that a 4K restoration of Alain Resnais’s debut feature Hiroshima Mon Amour will have its U.S. premiere during the 2014 New York Film Festival. The spectacular new restoration of one of the most important early New Wave films will be spotlighted in the NYFF’s Revivals section and will then open at the Film Society immediately following the festival—the first theatrical screenings in decades.
If you’re at all toying with the idea of getting a membership, I whole-heartedly recommend it. I was able to get all the tickets I wanted for the fest before anyone else!
[Tickets for the 52nd New York Film Festival will go on sale to the general public at noon on Sunday, September 7. Becoming a Film Society member before July 31 provides access to a pre-sale period for single tickets to festival screenings and events before the general public on-sale date.]
