Rumor: Chris Pine is Your New Green Lantern

Latino Review is reporting some big news on the Green Lantern casting. Apparently the reboot will focus on more than two of the Green Lantern Corps, one of which will be Hal Jordan, who was previously played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 features film. Reports claim that Chris Pine will be announced as the new Green Lantern. As for the other Lantern? Well, previous rumors have Tyrese Gibson (Furious 7) starring as John Stewart, though nothing has been officially announced.

These are rumors at this point, but with SDCC right around the corner, we will soon know more. Stay tuned to RND for breaking news!

It’s Official: James Wan to Direct the ‘Aquaman’ Movie!

Warner Bros. Pictures has just announced that director James Wan (Furious 7) has agreed to helm the  upcoming Aquaman feature film! The announcement was made by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.

“We’ve been so lucky to have worked with James, first on New Line’s ‘The Conjuring’ and now on their upcoming ‘The Conjuring 2,’” says Silverman, “and are thrilled to have him on board as we continue to expand our DC slate. The ‘Aquaman’ film will be a major tentpole picture for us and James’s span of work has proven him able to take on any manner of project, bringing his incredible creative talent and unique voice to the material.”

Not only will Wan be directing, but he will also serve as supervisor to the script, which is currently being penned by Kurt Johnstad (300, 300: Rise of an Empire).  Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder and Zack Snyder will serve as producers. Already announced Jason Momoa will star in the film as the titular character.

“James is not only a great storyteller but can make action truly explode on the big screen,” says Roven, “and Jason has a dynamic presence that commands your attention. Together, they will bring an undeniable vitality and energy to this character as he headlines his first feature film.”

Before appearing in his solo film, Momoa’s Aquaman will make his big screen debut in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.  Aquaman hits theaters on June 14, 2019.

 

 

Trailer for ‘The Intern’ Starring Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway Debuts

Warner Bros. Pictures has just released the trailer for their upcoming The Intern starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro.  You can check it out below!

70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker (De Niro) has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Hathaway).

Written and directed by Nancy Meyers (Something’s Gotta Give), the film also stars Rene Russo (Thor), Anders Holm (“Workaholics”), Andrew Rannells (“Girls”), Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect), Celia Weston (“No Reservations”), Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars), Linda Lavin (Wanderlust), Zack Pearlman (“The Inbetweeners”), newcomer Jason Orley, and Christina Scherer (“Living with Uncle Charlie”).

The Intern hits theaters September 25.

Zack Snyder Comments on Why You SHOULD Go to Monday’s ‘Batman v Superman’ IMAX Event

BatmanEarlier tonight, Warner Brothers released the trailer for the highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ahead of Monday’s IMAX event screening event leaving many to wonder if it was even worth it to attend, well, the director has spoken and he wants to assure you that you ain’t seen nuttin yet!

So there you have it….the event will feature additional footage not seen yet as well as “swag” to be provided to all attendees!

Zack Snyder via EW has released the first look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder had the following comments regarding that character:

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.  Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake.  He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”

Michael’s Review: ‘Jupiter Ascending’- Get Ready to Witness Science Fiction at It’s Worst

There are bad movies and then there are BAD movies, Jupiter Ascending, the newest film from directing duo Andy and Lana Wachowski might be the worst you see all year. Where do I begin? Let’s start at the beginning. Remember last summer when Warner Brothers abruptly delayed the release of the film weeks before it was scheduled to open wide? A film which was supposed be one of Warner Brothers tent pole films for the summer of 2014 suddenly cast off to the movie junkyard known as February! Unheard of! But after viewing this film, you can tell why the studios was reluctant to release it. The $175 million dollar sci-fi film by the directors of The Matrix was suppose to be a slam dunk, but this dog will go down as one of the biggest disappointments in cinematic history.
