Deadline is reporting that Legendary and Experience Hendrix have finally worked out a deal for a film based on the legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix’s life and Paul Greengrass is in talks to direct.
Scott Silver (The Fighter) will provide the screenplay for the film, which will be produced by Thomas Tull, Peter Afterman, Janie Hendrix, Jon Jashni and John McDermott. Josh Bratman and Jillian Share will serve as executive producers.
Hendrix, who tragically died in 1970 at age 27, is widely considered to be among the greatest guitarists of all time. Unlike recent film Jimi: By My Side, which was released without his estate’s consent, Legendary will have access to Hendrix’s full catalogue of recordings.
