Variety is reporting that Jack Huston (“Boardwalk Empire”) is bowing out of the upcoming Crow remake due to scheduling issues.

Jack Huston is unfortunately unavailable to continue with us on ‘The Crow,’” says director Corin Hardy  . “‘The Crow’ is an amazing project, and I am grateful that we have the time and patience to get it right. We look forward to unveiling our new lead and starting to film over the next several weeks.”

Huston is the second actor to exit the project as Luke Evans was previously attached to play the role of Eric Draven but departed the project earlier this year.

In other Crow news, Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker is in talks to play a role in the remake. The role is rumored to be that of Sergeant Albrecht which was played by Ernie Hudson in the 1994 original.

‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ Gets a Release Date

Pride-and-Prejudice-and-Zombies

Screen Gems has officially set a release date for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the Burr Steers’ adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s re-imagining of the Jane Austen classic. The film will be released on February 19, 2016. February is normally a month in which studios dump their not so stellar films, so hopefully this scheduling doesn’t foreshadow a mediocre release.

The film tells the classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England, but they must also faced with a new challenge, an army of undead zombies who want to eat their brains!!

The movie stars Lily James (Cinderella) as Elizabeth, Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows) as Jane, Ellie Bamber (A Mother’s Son) as Lydia, Millie Brady (Mr. Selfridge) as Mary, Suki Waterhouse (The Divergent Series: Insurgent), Sam Riley (Maleficent) as Mr. Darcy, Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) as Wickham and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Mr. Collins.

Jack Huston has definitely been cast,” O’Barr saidI’m really happy with that choice.

A film that has gone through many changes since it’s announcement, including three director departs and now a lead acting change, the remake of the 1994 cult classic film will be directed by Corin Hardy and written by Cliff Dorfman, who is said to be keeping very close to the source material.

‘Boardwalk Empire’ Star Eyed for ‘The Crow’ Reboot

This reboot of The Crow has gone through many changes since it’s announcement so all information about the project should be taken with a grain of salt, but news today has surfaced that the film may have finally nailed down its lead. Deadline is reporting that Jack Huston is now the front runner for the titular role. James O’Barr’s dark comic book antihero has seen many re-creations since the original film was released, but none that have merited any critical acclaim. This reboot has been met with a lot of fan skepticism since originally attached star Luke Evans departed the project a few months back, but the possible addition of Huston might just calm the waters.

No release date has been announced, although it is widely rumored that the film will go into production before the end of the year.
