13 New Movies Premiering On Demand This February

David Cross is releasing his new movie, HITS, in theaters and available via BitTorrent as a Pay-What-You-Want release. There’s actually a Special Pay-What-You-Want Screening Event at Nitehawk Cinemas in Brooklyn. Sorry, it’s sold out already. The big surprise is the quiet release of The Rewrite, starring (are you ready for this?) Hugh Grant, Marisa TomeiAllison Janney, J.K. Simmons and Chris Elliott.

Starting off the month is the documentary, Tricked, from First Run Features about human trafficking. Next up is a light-hearted romantic comedy with Matt LeBlanc and Ali Larter, Lovesick. Mad As Hell is documentary about… Another documentary, Call For Help covers the disaster and aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. Rutger Hauer stars in a future world in RPG. For the horror/suspense fans, Girl House and Digging Up the Marrows look pretty terrifying.

February 3rd

Tricked – documentary

Lovesick – Starring Matt LeBlanc & Ali Larter
LOVESICK is the comic tale of Charlie Darby (Matt LeBlanc), a man who has everything going for him: a great job as an elementary school principal, supportive friends and a wonderful life. The one thing that Charlie doesn’t have is love because every time he starts to fall for a girl, his brain chemistry changes and he goes clinically insane.  When he meets Molly Kingston (Ali Larter), a former dancer who just might be his perfect match, Charlie is confronted with the consequences of his condition.
With the help of his friend Jason (Adam Rodriguez) and the often misguided advice from his wacky neighbor Lester (Chevy Chase), Charlie must find a way to overcome his psychosis to claim his chance at true love.

Call For Help – documentary
CALL FOR HELP is a feature-length documentary that provides a rare glimpse into the operations of a guerrilla-style NGO, the Global Disaster Immediate Response Team (Global D.I.R.T.), in the aftermath of one of the deadliest disasters in modern history – the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
Without substantial funding or a celebrity spokesperson, this group of young individuals resorts to an ‘ends justify the means’ method to deliver relief. Their ‘snatch and grab’ approach fits well in the chaos of post-earthquake Haiti, and what started out as a group of self-proclaimed troublemakers quickly turns into key players in the rescue and rebuilding of Haiti – saving numerous lives, earning respect from the locals and gaining recognition from the largest organizations operating on the island.

Digging Up the Marrows – Starring: Adam Green, Ray Wise, Will Barratt
What if the ghastly images and abominations haunting our collective nightmares actually exist? Writer/director Adam Green (Hatchet) sets out to make a documentary exploring this tantalizing premise after being contacted by a mysterious man named William Dekker (Ray Wise). Dekker claims he can prove that “monsters are real” and insists these grotesque creatures are forgotten, hideously deformed humanoids inhabiting a vast, underground metropolis of the damned. Determined to expose the truth, Green embarks on a bone-chilling odyssey and gets more than he bargains for when he dares to go Digging Up The Marrow.

Ejecta – Alien invasion horror flick
Reclusive blogger Bill Cassidy (Richings) claims to be the subject of a horrific alien haunting that has plagued him for a majority of his life. Documentary filmmaker Joe Sullivan (Seybold) receives a mysterious email from Cassidy’s online alias one night with instructions to meet him the following day to discuss the unexplainable possession. As Cassidy tells his story on the eve of a historic solar storm an unidentified flying object crash lands on the property and Joe Sullivan films the entire thing. As the two men fight for their lives while the terrifying life form hunts them an anonymous intelligence group descends on the farm to ensure they are the only ones who can control the information regarding what Bill has witnessed. Lead by the insane and soulless Dr. Tobin (Houle) this group will stop at nothing to prove to the world that we were never alone in the universe.
