After announcing the birth of her second child with husband/director Paul W.S. Anderson, the future of the Resident Evil franchise was put on hold by Screen Gems, but word comes that the delay may be short lived. Milla has taken to social media with word that she is already preparing to return as Alice and the movie plans to shoot in August.
“I’m really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.) because I have to be ready to start filming ‘Resident Evil- The Final Chapter’ in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously.” said Jovovich
Returning for his fourth outing in the franchise as director and writer is Anderson, who met Jovovich on the set of the 2002 Resident Evil and ultimately married the actress. Also returning will be actor Wentworth Miller who will reprise his role as Chris from the last outing Resident Evil: Retribution.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is tapped for release on September 2, 2016
